PRODUCTION
We are super proud to say that our hats are made locally in Bulgaria, ultimately leaving a lighter footprint on the planet. Our suppliers are based in Europe and we wish to keep our supply chain short. Currently our hats are made personally by the founder of the brand Milena, after she taught the craftsmanship in Paris. So you can be sure we have ethical workplace conditions.
Combining artisanal craftsmanship with contemporary touch – our hats are meant to be unique. We do not follow trends so it’s highly unlikely you will get tired of your hat once the new trend comes.
Made-to-order approach helps us not to overproduce and create unnecessary stock overload.
MATERIALS
We have come a long way since our first product. In an effort to become more sustainable we’ve changed our whole brand approach and production process. Currently we produce locally and we source the highest quality materials on the market (that are cruelty-free!). We work with by-product rabbit fur, European wool felt, recycled leather sweatband. Constantly searching for recycled and organic materials like cotton and silk to finish our hats.
Having a cruelty-free policy is important to us. One of the reason we do not use beaver felt as it threatens their extinction and directly affects their lives. Our leather sweatbands are made of recycled leather waste. We look at our products as a life-long investment and an item you can enjoy for years without making any waste.
PACKAGING
We are dedicated to improving our sustainability practices and do what we love more responsibly. This has a lot to do with the packaging.
Our packaging consists of recycled and compostable materials.Your order comes in recycled cardboard which you can later use to store your hat and protect it from dust. If you wish to store your hat on a shelf or hang it on the wall – we recommend recycling the box. Our tags and greeting cards are also made out of recycled paper.
Our compostable mailers from The Better Packaging Co. are made out of cornstarch and when left in nature will degrade as fruits and vegetables do. No toxic emissions! So you can just throw it in the general garbage bin.
PLANTING TREES
We are forward thinkers and we understand the necessity to give back to our community and nature. The idea of planting trees was born together with our brand creation. With every order we’ll plant a tree on your behalf and together with The Better Packaging Co. we’ll plant 2 trees (for every domestic one).
We have partnered with One Tree Planted – a non-profit organization focused on global reforestation and we are currently contributing to projects based in Africa.
